We left the world of corporate fashion to focus on creating something small and meaningful. Obsessed with making the perfect everyday shoe - the right way - we created a collection of everyday footwear using the best quality, sustainably sourced leathers.

VINTAGE INSPIRED
We have always loved shopping vintage and finding personal style through unique and thrifted pieces, but we found vintage shoes to be difficult. The best pairs are run to the ground and the glue and components just don't hold up decades later.
With this in mind, we design our collections to be timeless and with a soft broken-in vintage feel. This way you can let them mold to your own foot over time for a perfect fit.
HANDMADE WITH CARE
We partner with artisans and small, family-run workshops with fair and ethical labor practices. Our shoes are made by hand in Portugal, Mexico & Colombia . We love these workshops for their attention to detail, incredible leather finishing and skilled handwork. Many details in our shoes are woven or stitched by hand.
Our shoes are made in the traditional way - with a hand and quality we believe is absent in most modern footwear.
HOW WE STARTED
E I T H E R / O R launched in the Spring of 2020, from a small apartment in Ridgewood, Queens. Founding partners Paige & TC designed the first collection, four handmade leather sandals, with the goal to slowly expand the assortment based on what real customers need and want. Our goal has always been to grow organically and to work with friends (Hi, Emily!). We remain independently owned -- designing, packing and shipping every pair from our small studio warehouse in Tacoma, Washington.
SMALL AND INDEPENDENT
Remaining independent and selling direct gives us freedom to run our business ethically. Selling direct to consumer allows us to put more cost directly into the quality of the product. We use the best quality chrome-free & vegetable-tanned leathers and pay beyond fair wages to our manufacturing partners.
We use 100% leather upper, lining and outsoles - never synthetic materials. We also use post consumer and plastic free packaging in every pair we ship, which feels good :)
We believe transparency is the first step to real change in the fashion industry.
