Our Leather
100% of our leather comes Leather Working Group (LWG) Gold-certified tanneries. Gold is the highest rating, awarded to factories that demonstrate best practices and environmental performance across emissions, waste disposal, chemical usage, water usage, hide traceability, and worker conditions. Additionally, we select materials that have been tanned using only vegetable tannins, which further ensures a toxin-free waste stream.
OUR FACTORY
We partner with an independently owned factory in Leon -- the heart of shoemaking in Mexico. Founded in 1954 and still in the family, the factory prides itself on producing at the highest levels of quality and sustainability. The factory undergoes regular environmental impact assessments and is working towards WRAP certification in 2026.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Our partners are chosen carefully to ensure they pay living wages and provide safe and stable working conditions. Workers are paid according to their level of expertise and role. In our Mexico factory, employees who work in production processes earn 3.5x the minimum wage. The lowest wage paid is 66% above the average individual living wage for the region based on 2024 data from wageindicator.org.
Our packaging
With our partners in Mexico we utilize a unique shipping method which cuts down on unneccesary packaging and ensures that only one box is ever created in our processes - the box that ships to you. We use 100% post-consumer cardboard and ship using plastic-free packaging. We purchase carbon offsets for all of our shipping from Native Energy.
